For me it boils down to reading as many proposals as I can and writing more of them myself. I found this one pretty tough tbh
Same thing here. A few host groups have a team to read and comment your proposal - with people that actually know the fellowship. This helps a lot!

Re: 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020)

So that's a 10% increase in budget and a 17% increase in applications. Here are the increases per panel: All panels: 17% ST 16% RI 11% CAR 42% SE 15% GF 13% Wow, this is quite interesting. And do we know how the budget is allocated per each panel from the previous years? I am terrible in statistics...

Re: 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020)

And s/he also began their first posts on this forum by asking if anyone knew that *if* you got the grant whether you could then change the host and supervisor. But s/he is also the most accomplished scientist ever, and s/he knows that they haven't got the grant, but they also know that they do have...

Re: 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020)

I first want to say that I agree that the way to get an MSCA is to work to the form expected - the technicalities and what they are looking for (knowledge exchange, training, appropriate supervisor, good Gantt Chart etc.) are all very important. But when we talk about "luck" we are talking about th...

This evaluation sheet clarifies how focused on training the fellowship is, even in the excellence section. I hope everyone here was aware of that.

Re: 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020)

This is exactly the same reason I got rejection last time. As the reviewer mentioned applicant will not get benefits from host whatever host offered already he has. This time I changed the host and worked on a new topic that I had only few papers in this area. But the host is the chief editor of jo...

Re: 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020)

Wondering if some of you really got the point of what is the fellowship about? MSCF is not only about excellence, it is about impact on the applicants career. What can be the impact for someone who is already assistant professor, or someone who published 32 articles in two years!!? What will be the...

Re: 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020)

To CAR, or not to CAR? I am inactive in research since March/19 (which means 17 months of inactivity). Thus, I am pretty sure that I can apply for the CAR panel. I saw that the cut-off score of my "regular" panel (SOC) was higher than CAR last year (93 x 89.4), but is this a pattern? The idea of thr...
