Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)

Best pubs are in Ireland though  Me too. In 40 minutes I will stop with this fellowship writing and go to the pub to have some pints. If there is something I like from the UK is the concept of pub. Gonna try my best to detach from the nervous wait. Will crack open a wargame tonight, Barbarossa:...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)

That will be great! Did anyone got ranking? I am still on evaluation. Well, January 28 is practically at the end of January. Last year the results were announced on the 29th (Monday). As far as I remember, someone also got an inside tip about the announcement data and it turned out to be true. Where...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)

I guess it is automatic? I doubt they enter each score one by one. Maybe the evaluators and vice chairs upload score and report on a server and then everything else is sorted automatically. What do you guys think? Anyway, as said before decision have been made already around december 2018, they only...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)

Very good point. But then, how can you prevent that only evaluator that wants to f**k you for any stupid reason? the other annoying thing is that they actually change their initial grades to reach a "consensus". No, they should just have the original average. Who knows what biases can enter when the...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)

Make sense. Once they have uploaded everything, they will hit the "ranking" button and once that is finished, then probably there will be the "make the results visible to these losers" button. I think they have started to upload the ESR to individuals account. Once the process is complete, they will...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)

I agree with you. I don't think they do them all together and I also imagine that the process is completely automated. I cannot imagine that they need to go through 10000 proposal to upload individually scores and reports. Now i am shitting myself! Mine as well shows EVALUATION I'm struggling to thi...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)

Academia is rotten, not all of it, but the most part. When I started i thought Academia was the ideal world where everything is perfect, uncorrupt and based on a perfect system. Then I started to realise that it's not: peer-reviewed system does not work how it should, impact factor is bullshit, publ...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)

I hope so! I do not want to wait another week! :) Hi guys, results are coming! Grants section is very slow. I can't access the pdf documents and the "informed" status disappeared! They are indeed working on the background. I've been on the reserve list of the 2017 application and I've just got a rej...

Re: 2018 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2018)

Following on with previous thread on becoming a lecturer or a PI in general, getting funding is essential. Unfortunately, at least in the life sciences context, you also need to publish a lot and in high impact factor journals. I am sure that getting a Marie Curie, a EMBO, FEBS or any other fellowsh...
