The releasing of results at midnight sounds stupid because it's very unlikely that they are working hard till midnight to get it ready. I expect some kind of automation to be used to handle this massive number of emails but release it as and when it is ready rather than do it at midnight. What purpose does it serve?

Midnight is the witching hour. Brussels has resorted to magic to fix their IT issues.

Yes it is an automatic system. I think it is because then everyone gets the result in 24hrs and not in different days. But I might be wrong.
