I've been reading all the comments here since Friday. I feel I'm the only one here that is from Nigeria. Rejected anyway... Congratulations to those that got it.... 841***, Panel: ENV

Wow, that beats mine ;). I said I speak the languages of the case countries (highlighted as a strength last year) and the reviewers felt like I should have elaborated on how well :o :D

88.6, CAR, supposedly on the reserve list. I have gainful employment outside of academia, this was a weird moment where I thought maybe I would come back, but I'm also surprisingly okay with not doing so. I think it helps that the negative comments from the reviewers are really stupid - they just don't actually feel like criticisms because they are so spurious.
And when I say spurious, I mean that one of the negative comments was *literally* that I didn't explain clearly enough how the host would provide office space. If that's how they are rejecting them, that's fine - I have a life to get on with!
This reviewers should be identified and prevented from ever doing such shitty job.

Yes, I got emails.

Few points:

1. I didn't talk about gender

2. I used tables and charts in the core of the proposal.

So don't believe what someone says.

The proposal has to be scientifically strong, with the CV of applicant and host. Apply with big host and make your proposal attractive and pay equal attention to each section.

Hi,

842XXX (email at 6 am)

I got rejection (86) in chem panel.

They somehow told me that PI is not top, and they do not like risky project (but how can I bring, working in science, novelty or "know-how" without risky?).

They put many strengthens and few weaknesses.

Funny one (how can I bring deliverables in the beginning or middle of WP? I am not from Hogwarts)

- Most of the deliverables and milestones in the Gantt chart are scheduled at the end of the corresponding work packages which will make it
difficult to timely detect problems and will add complexity to the progress of the project.

Very happy who got it, and sorry who not.

Stay positive.
Cheers.
