Hi all,
I am a first-time applicant for the GF. I just found this forum yesterday and have been trying to catch up. May I ask where you see the "Evaluation" remark for your application? Evaluation as opposed to what? And is this really an indicator?
Hi and good luck! Which panel are you? Although it is not really wise to check that (almost none of us here is wise!) you basically visit your proposal's follow-up page and disable styles. There you can see whether your phase is ranking or evaluation. But we do not really know what that means, except that ranking is above threshold. Just that. Everything else is pure speculation.
Thanks! I am SOC. Mine says Ranking. But I was told that even if I get a high score, there is no guarantee that I will be funded. So it can go either way for any of us I guess. Good luck!
Thanks! Also GF-SOC btw! We are competitors!!!!

Yes but we have an advantage over natural sciences or engineering projects, I think. In SOC every project is quite unique, which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to compare projects with one another except in terms of how well your proposal is written and how well it fits MSCA expectations. So, we are not really competing against each other but only against potentially better versions of our own proposal. And of course there is luck: when it comes down to what sort of reviewers read our proposal. Wish us all lots of luck.

Definitely one way to look at it, although on the other hand the UK has paid it's share of the H2020 budget they are probably entitled to be awarded fellowships until they are effectively "paid up" and out? They are already taking a massive hit. I read somewhere recently that the amount of funding the UK has ben awarded has dropped by some staggering amount, in the ballpark of 350 million.

Is brexit going to affect rankings? At this point, since horizon 2020 is intended to fund European research and train European researchers, awarding a grant to a British institution will come at the expense of a European institution, even though the British govt has pledged to fund successful proposals to British institutions. So in this case would the EU simply save the money it would have otherwise awarded to British institutions, or would these savings be used to fund European institution proposals on the wait list?
If you look a few pages back then you will see this discussed previously with detailed answers. In short: UK applicants are unaffected at present. Because there is an agreement there will be no change through 2020 for the UK in relation to H2020. After that, it depends on negotiations with the EU and UK higher ed leaders are trying to push the government to negotiate on buying into the H2020 replacement as a separate issue to the other agreements with the EU post-Brexit. So we will just see what happens, but it will make zero difference to anyone who submitted an MSCA application in 2019.

May be another update around the corner

Portal shows

"Due to maintenance, Funding&Tenders Portal may be unavailable on Monday, 03.02.2020, between 08:30 and 09:30 CET
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
there probably wont be any more updates (atleast not visible for us). the next step is putting out the results and this might happen every day from now on. probably this is just a maintenance and we should expect results not much earlier than 11 feb though.
If there is maintenance on Monday morning, I find it quite unlikely that they release any results on Monday. It will be Tuesday onwards, then. Just some more speculation for the sake of it, haha
Just to add some more noise   . Evaluators will meet Monday and Tuesday in Brussels. Don't know though if they'll evaluate our MSCA projects or others. :?:
I really expect the results to come on Feb 11. :| :?

how do you know this? for what purpose? to me this "meeting" looks way to late to have any relevance for the results. probably either just a get together option for all evaluators or they meet for a different call.
