2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020)
Re: 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020)
In two of the ethical arguments I gave explanation in proposal but in the online system I didn't do anything so they asked why they are not consistent. One more thing argument was there that they didn't accept my justification and suggested to get help from host to submit a clear justification. Two weeks is given as a maximum deadline and requested to response as quakely as possible.

Thank you SER0 for these details! It is only fair for you to get it with such impressive cv and after all this work!

Hi guys, I just checked mine and after disabling styles it is still in "submission" phase. No status change to "evaluation" has been reported yet?

I am not surprised that hosts may get some info beforehand and that there are some leaks from evaluators as well.
I have a personal example of how far the circles on the water can go even with some proximity to success. I had applied for a different grant previously, it was a more local one, and I ended up not having it. But my score was high in the 1st round and then dropped at the consensus stage. And then there was this old retired professor whom I never even met, who was somehow familiar to evaluators, who came to the department and started making some weird hints about me getting it. He even had my name which does suggest that he had some info. And if before I totally believed that I would not get it, I started hoping and going crazy for a while. Especially since he was saying that some documents were missing in my application and I had to send them ASAP, but noone knew WHERE to send them and I couldn't contact him personally cause he said he couldn't contact me. Can you imagine? I thought I would get a heart attack. Like as if I got it but some documents were missing, and now is the last chance, but noone knows where the heck to send them. I wonder if this was his entertainment at the retirement to troll poor candidates.

I can't take it anymoreSER0 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 11:17 amMy host told me wait for the good news and today I got to clear the concerns about the ethical issues. Although, it was explained in the proposal but they added few more questions regarding the answers I gave in proposal.
IFCAR-2020 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 9:54 amJust a question. Have you previously been granted with a MSCA-EF? It so, did you receive the result from your host before receiving the congratulations mail? Or are you talking about the MSCA of the friend of a friend?. I know the host receive the result the same day that the candidate and then they start to prepare the grant, not before. So, just for curiosity, from where did you obtain such informatión?SER0 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 9:38 amI agree with you to all applications. They know the successful candidates before the candidates come to know. The fellowship will not transfer the funding immediately to the host university. The university needs to submit a grantee. This grantee varies by number of successful candidates.

Guys, to lighten up the mood let's share funny stories about other applications.

ok. during my phd my colleague, a post doc, applied for a national grant. My boss somehow was sitting at the round table where they ranked this grant (was not her post doc but someone else in the lab...still seems weird to me but...)anyways she texted us by the hour as the grants got ranked. Post doc ended up number 3 on the waitlist. for this grant they said it would never happen to get off this list if you are not #1 on the wait list...well 3-4 months later this post doc got it, we don't know who she made disappear in the mean time but it was a happy ending. still this was the most insider info I ever saw on grant results.
