I believe they send emails based on ranking. I got 98.4 and got the mail 6 hours ago.

I support this theory. I was rejected three times and each time had to wait several hours after the first emails were sent. This time I got the grant and I was one of the first ones to report being informed.

GF - PHY. Doing 2 years in Singapore and 1 year in Germany.

Last year I got 82.8. So this year I used the same project, updated with novel methodology, changed supervisors and did not submit it as a resubmition. One supervisor invented the field and the other is a young prospect. Also I believe what helped me a lot was that I participated on a podcast that was streamed live on Youtube. It gained like 23 000 views so it was a great opportunity to boost up the dissemination part of the proposal that usually gets completely destroyed by the evaluators.

I'm on the SOC panel. Last year I got 92.6 and was on the reserve list. I made the (in my humble opinion) best amendments that responded to the evaluators' comments and this year I got 77.8. I'm more than disappointed...

But congratulations to all those who got their fellowships - you are the very best! The night, and the next couple of years, is yours!

This is how it goes! It is easier the third time when you drop the score again.

I’m also in Soc and scored 90 last year, same proposal, making amendments as suggested by reviewers and this time I didn’t even make the cut off (status still in evaluation) maybe there is a record for number of points dropped for resubmission

I don't think so.

I got rejected 2018 with 84.6. Email came at 03:02am
I got rejected 2019 with 75.4. Email came at 04:31am
I got on reserve list 2020 with 91.4. I don't find the email anymore, but it was a similar time.

This year, I am still waiting...
