Had I got 5/5, I would have been funded.
In the first attempt, there were couple of weaknesses and the score was 4.7.
I see..! I guess there were other factors the reviewers considered (not mentioned though). Otherwise, by addressing the weaknesses, one would have thought the score must have improved a lot (just 0.1 point) from the previous score. This competition is quite intensive..!

By the way, is your phase "ranking" now?

I am still in 'evaluation'
Oh..OK!

Given the number of people here ranking I'm having a hard time believing that = above 85%
but what do I know? (first-timer)
Ranking is at least a threshold (3.5/5 = 70%) if I am not mistaken.

Good point.

However, I do believe that most of the people in here are not first-timers. I had the feeling from previous years that the approval rate of participants in the forum are a bit higher than usual. There are lots of information here, and I think that although luck plays a huge role in this competition, being obsessive with the details of your proposal - which also means participating in online foruns about it - helps.

And I did not mention that many extinct panels had around 40% of their applicants receiving the SoE (which means score>85). 😢

Roughly 1200 people will get the fellowship, I don't think the number of people ranking here is that high.

Guys,
I found a pdf document. Might help us to understand the evaluation process...
I still need to re-read it carefully, but from what I got so far, ranking, evluation are just steps into the process... they don`t mean score or anything...

In page 36 of this document, it says evaluators should proceed in alphabethical order of proposal`s acronyms.
