MSCA is not two stage.
ERC starting grant is two stages.

Here's a link to the document I was referring to previously - Evaluation Form.
https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tende ... sca_en.pdf
From this document I understood 'ranking' means not passing the threshold.

But it could also mean that the Weighting is only applied during the ranking but it does not need to be determined if the proposal passed the threshold (and is going through ranking).
I understood that during evaluation a score (up to 5) is given for a particular criterion, such as Excellence, and that the threshold is 3. After that, then, the weighting of that criteria is applied (e.g 50%) to create the ranking.
I understood this is a very general guide, that can be applied to different types of calls. I dunno how it is in Europe, but here, a two-stage call has two submissions. If you pass the first, you are invited to submit a more comprehensive project in stage 2. I understood that MSCA-PF é a one-stage call. But then again, I don't know how things work in Europe...

I can speak for myself... I am spinning out, creating crazy theories (unable to focus on any actual work!)... even contacted my NCP who told me to ~chill out a bit~...hahahahahaha
But I think seeing this cooled me down a bit... it is what it is... we`ll have to wait till the 14th!
Btw, I think people still on submission probably have their proposal`s acronym starting with later letters... Next time I`ll start mine with A, no matter what!
will this year be sooner? Given that the phase have changed almost 2w prior to the announced date.
Wonder whether NCPs have received final results already, one day after the “phase-change” day, like last year.
I sincerely hope not to suffer until Mar 14
Wasn´t it 3 days after phase change that dreamer started releasing results last year?

At least we have a clue about how the single digit (+one decimal) numbers are converted to percentages.

A lot of the EU documents apply to all calls under ...Horizon Europe in this case.

If I remember correctly, last year the phase started to change on Thursday, dreamer said NCPs would have the results on Friday, and he got the list (from his NCP) on the next Monday.

I've been reading through last year's thread. This was the first person who noticed their phase change:

im in evaluation
Then Dreamer started sending people their results on the Saturday, so their NCP probably had the results on Friday 5th. Then official emails started getting sent Sunday evening/early Monday morning (depending on your time zone).

I think it's possible that NCPs will have the results on Friday of this week and we may get emails on Sunday night/early Monday morning. But I'm just speculating, I have no inside information.

Again, from reading through last year's thread, I think this may be what happens:

If you remain in submission phase, then possibly your proposal was never sent out for review, maybe because you filled out something wrong in the form or something like that.

Everyone whose proposal went out for review moves to evaluation phase when the EU start entering the results.

Anyone who scored >70% moves to ranking phase.

The computer sorts out those in ranking from 100% to 70% for each panel and starts allocating the budget set for that panel, moving down the list and giving funding to the proposals one by one until the money runs out. The last proposal funded becomes the cut off value (for example maybe 92.4% in one panel, 90.7% in another etc.) A few proposals below that cut off mark get put in the reserve list and everyone else unfortunately doesn't get funded.

>85% = seal of excellence.

However, there are always glitches in a system, especially when dealing with thousands of proposals, so you do sometimes get people who remain in submission or evaluation who get funded.

True! It seems like there were only a few today who changed phase, but the forum seems less active this year, so maybe there are thousands not here who changed phase today and also tomorrow :)
