It has got to the point where I am seriously contemplating a move away from academia.

This is a totally understandable feeling. For me, it is the academic cultures in my country (predatory publishing, self-plagiarism, etc.) that made me want to move away from this country to Europe (although I used to be like you, wanting to move away from academia!). MSCA seems to be such an important part of our decisionmaking and it is exactly making our lives easier!

Who's in for a bet on when they'll release the results?

Last week I would have bet anything on Monday (today), but now I'm very confused and thinking anything could happen...

New theory: they are trying to get rid of applicants by killing us slowly with stress? So only the most resilient remain and they will fund them?

This could be a movie - "The Hunger Games: Academia"

I feel like it already is! The only thing is, we were never formally informed that we were participating

It is not only about MSCA. This is a glimpse of what is in store for us. We will have to go through this loop of proposal writing -> deadlines -> submission -> painful wait for the results, again and again and again..

They themselves are rejected in this regard

So basically every NCP has told us it won't be today. Most NCPs seem to not even know about the portal indicating that the results would be announced today
