Did you see the info on UKRI website? Maybe it is not updated?!
But the same document states that if an associated country has more grant than what it paid, the said country will have to pay a compensation.
So we don't know what is happening, and it is clearly just a speculation, but as UK always had a very huge amount of grants compared to its contribution, maybe the compensation process is taking more time.
But again, we don't know.
