They did it awful this year, very random and opaque in communications! Not possible for such a commission to be disabled in setting at least a tight period for results announcement, still spilling it super random!

In the meantime, I am exploring other options for a fellowship in the case my application is not successful and I remember that you guys were talking about the Swiss equivalence of MSCA - SNFS. Do you have any idea when they will be open this year for this fellowship?

No idea. The results of 2021 call will be released in June/July if I recall.

Their deadline for applications were Nov (first phase, which is quite simple) and Dec (when you have to do the most detailed application).

These national fundings usually wait for the MSCA results. FWO (Belgium) is the same thing.

Freezing the whole process until you see the updates on the global state of affairs is a problem in its own. But again, it might be something completely irrelevant.

What we know now is (correct me if I'm wrong) that all the people stating to get the fellowships were either taking ERA fellowships, or they were notified due to leaks from the country MSCA responsibles (which are different than the NCPs, like we have learned) and have the (final or provisional) results -which should be final by now if they are really announcing next week.

You mean the number of applications to the UK? I don't think so, they can't exclude anyone because of the host in a given associated country. If the UK didn't contribute enough to cover the large number of applications is something they should probably address afterwards, also because they still don't know the exact number of grant agreements that will be signed (i.e., someone may renounce the fellowship). But in the end I have no idea how the EC works, so it's just speculation

In the email they sent, it says:
"with a view to complete an additional screening on a number of proposals."
It is highly probable that they have several proposals that their evaluation was not approved by the quality check, and they were sent back.
Also, this pinpoints that the number of evaluators was disproportional to the number of proposals, which caused the delay with the evaluation.
