What are your thoughts on getting an offer being on the reserve list with a UK host? Or do you think the EU will skip the reserves with a UK host?
Hi, roro! Unfortunately, if UK does not associate with Horizon until June 14, EU will probably not be able to make any offers to those on the reserve list with UK hosts, as they would become ineligible as well. Unless, of course, you make it to the main list before June 14 (if there are enough dropouts by then), and you can then apply for UKRI funding.
Also, this might be a stretch, but you can try and contact UKRI and ask if they would also finance projects from the reserve list... Who knows? They might be interested to extend the scope a bit.
My hope is gone if they do like this as my host is in UK.
Oh, man... I'm sorry. :? But I'm not even remotely an authority on this, so I might be wrong...

Even if EC won't fund people with a UK host, there is still a chance that UKRI will contact people from the reserve list as well..
Good luck with your funding and don't lose hope!

Hi trina

Could you please share a UKRI link with me? I am happy to send an email asking their plan to deal with people (with UK hosts) on the reserve list.

Thanks.

Also, guys (particularly those on the reserve list with UK hosts), you might want to follow this thread: https://twitter.com/_SheetalMenon/statu ... 3615345665
Someone posted this question on twitter and maybe it gets answered.

Just came across this in today's FT: "UK faces exclusion from EU’s Horizon research programme over N Ireland dispute" https://www.ft.com/content/96524f4a-008 ... pe=nongift

This one, too, is an interesting post: "No Horizon funding will go to British researchers until the Northern Ireland protocol row is fixed." https://www.politico.eu/article/brexit- ... els-warns/

Hi guys
I know we're all fed up with seeing the news about the tension between the UK and the EU, but everyday I keep reading really important articles. Here's another: "Cambridge University astrophysicist Nicholas Walton gives up leadership of €2.8m pan-European research after dispute over Northern Ireland protocol". https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... SApp_Other

Also, this tweet confirms that the successful Marie Curie applicants with UK hosts have already declined the fellowships. https://twitter.com/NanoPaleoMag/status ... 9086979075 My interpretation may be wrong of course, so I wonder what you all would make of this.

I really want this to be over, but I, for one, am definitely not "fed up", at least not with what you guys share. It really helps me deal better with the uncertainty. So thank you! ;)

As for that tweet, there will certainly be a few who will not want to go for the UKRI funding and choose to give it up altogether, either because they don't like the uncertainty or, as someone told me in a private message, because the UKRI funding "is not as prestigious as a Marie Curie fellowship". Although, technically, the selection process was the same. But I guess it depends on what alternatives each of the successful applicants has...

Under the prevailing circumstances, has any successful awardee considered changing the host institute from a UK institution to an EU one?
