This appeared in today's FT: "UK left out in the cold from flagship science programme" https://www.ft.com/content/48880fcc-dea ... 9be9d3653b. If you can't read it due to subscription issues, try this one https://publicnewstime.com/news/economy ... programme/
Thank you for sharing that!
The title is somewhat misleading, in the sense that nothing actually changed. UK has not been relegated yet to "third country" partner in Horizon. However, as it is mentioned in the article, "it’s hard to find a single diplomat or EU official that thinks the Commission will be backing down" (on their position to not go ahead with the formalization until the NIP issue is solved).

Hey, guys! How are you holding up? "Just" a bit over two weeks left until the deadline for the signing of the contracts and maybe we'll get some news then. :? In the meantime, here is a fun read: https://www.researchprofessionalnews.co ... el-vision/

Hi guys, I have seen that from today the MSCA winners could apply for the UKRI funds. I wish we could know with certainty if those projects getting the UKRI money will be replace by projects in the reserve list. Hopefully we'll know more in two weeks time.

Hi guys,
First of all, what a tremendous help this forum has been! thank you all!
My NCP informed me that everything depends on the UK association status with Europe.
Given how slow the notification process is, I guess that it will take at least another month till we hear something.

Hi, Nik! Thanks for sharing the news from your NCP. This is more or less what my NCP told me as well.
As for the timeline, I know they're usually moving slow, but I expect that it will be just a matter of days (after June 14) before they send the notifications to people on the reserve list. Unless we're missing something or something unexpected happens, they should move pretty fast with that. ;)

Hi guys
I can't seem to access, but apparently this is the important news today: "UK could quit Horizon Europe talks this month, v-cs warn".https://www.timeshighereducation.com/ne ... -v-cs-warn

Been reading a lot of news today about the UK's (non)-association to Horizon Europe :)
"In response to the ongoing uncertainty, the UK Government is now at an advanced stage of planning large-scale, comprehensive domestic alternatives to Horizon Europe, making use of the billions of pounds of funding that have been set aside for association. We believe that a decision to abandon association could come as early as June. Once the decision to shift away from participation in Horizon Europe is taken, we anticipate that it will not be possible to revert to association." https://www.fenews.co.uk/education/lett ... on-europe/

Hey! Thank you so much for sharing! This is important indeed. I've been reading far too much news as well, only not just today, but over the whole past month. But, in my defense, getting this grant would mean the world to me, so... I can't help it.
I think the whole "it will not be possible to revert" is a bit dramatic. Even if the talks are abandoned, for the time being, they can always resume once the issues that have caused the breakdown of the negotiations would have been dealt with.

I echo that, personally, I would benefit from this messy delay of the association, but I really hope Boris Johnson is not doing something hasitly by quitting it completely. It will be a loss for both sides in the long future.

I heard the same, that they will move pretty fast after June 14 to fill the places up from the reserve lists.
