My proposal is SOC. I turned into RAKING a couple of hours ago as I checked this morning (Brazil time) and it was in EVALUATION.

Mine too, and it also turned to RANKING today.

So based on the discussions in this thread and the ones from previous MSCA cycles, it looks like turning to RANKING means getting more than 80% and doing so early equals higher chances of getting funding. But this is merely a tendency and there have also been proposals who switched to RANKING early but ended up with less than 80%, right?
Means you are above 70% threshold but the sooner your status turns to ranking the more chance you have to win the call
Mine is still evaluation!
Ah, right, 70% was the threshold. Thanks for clarifying this! So we can be relatively sure about this conclusion? (It would, of course, make a lot of sense - why rank something that ends up below the cut off point anyway.)

By the way, as somebody raised the question about how it can be that there are that few of us this year in comparison to the previous year(s). While it'd be good for us if this were due to a (substantially) lower number of applications, this can't be it: according to my host institution, 7044 proposals were submitted this time (6334 European Fellowships and 710 Global Fellowships) and the overall budget is €275 million, whereas last time it was 8356 proposals for €242 million. Not much of a difference, I'm afraid (though the pendulum slightly swings into our direction).

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but ranking/evaluation doesn't mean much. I've done this dance 3 times now. Was close every time (seal of excellence/participation trophy). Last year there were a couple really dedicated members who quite diligently noted the changes, and it turned out the ranking/evaluation thing doesn't mean a lot, if anything at all, relative to the success of the application anyway.

Some people got funded while being in evaluation all the way through, some people got less than 70% despite switching to ranking early.

All told, a lot of smart people tried to figure this out, and it's still a coin toss. Apart from the year when the forum was blessed with two people who got the results sheets early, this place is bad news for anyone trying to remain calm until the results become available.

Everyone is free to indulge in producing theories, but don't let these theories stress you out for no reason.

No worries.

And for anyone who want to try and crack the code
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =782972678

This sheet was made from last year's call, and as you can see, despite the small sample size is that any and all interpretations which suggest a strong case for early ranking=funding are questionable at best.

Thanks for sorting this out and pointing us to the link! I see that there is no clear relation between time of ranking and successful funding but there are no cases in there, where ranking meant ending up below 70%, are there? At least this part of the generalisation could still be true.

Still in evaluation here.

In the last two years, I moved pretty quickly to ranking, but only got two SoE.

Lets see if the luck changes this year.

The following message appears in the portal:
"Documents will be unavailable in the Grants Management Services on WEDNESDAY, 01.02.2023, between 07:30 and 08:10 due to a document management system intervention. Please refrain from launching any workflow-related processes since these will not work and will have to be restored by the Service Desk"

I don't know if in previous calls there was some system intervention before the communications.

Best luck to all!

It just means a system intervention. It is not necessarily related to the MSCA-PF evaluation process.
