Will there be a reduction in the number of funded persons in the funding of the UK as the host country?
When the result of the ERC consolidator grants was announced a week ago, a professor from cambridge posted on twitter his concern about the significantly reduced number of UK-based researchers (life sciences) who won the grant compared to previous years.
I hope not, and I don't think it is likely, given the fact that what is assessed and ranked, by peers, is our submitted project and other files. (at least this is what we are told) It would otherwise bring in serious suspicion in relation to the whole evaluation process, no?
If the UK stops paying the contribution, it's not a matter of proposal evaluation but it becomes a contractual issue. In addition, it is clearly stated in the action terms and conditions that the decision to fund is not based purely on the reviewers' scores but there is also an assessment based on EU priorities.
Anyway, I think that if this was the case, they would have informed participants in advance.

Does anyone know how many proposals were funded last year at LIF?
Thank you!

Does anyone has a ranking status when using the magic link or disabling the style in the browser? Will we have news soon?

At this point I think most of us should be in ranking... the question is, is there anyone still in evaluation?

Mine is still in evaluation, and never changed since I first started to check the magic link.

“The Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom provides for the possibility of associating the United Kingdom to Union programmes, including Horizon Europe. We continue to recognise the mutual benefit of cooperation in science, research and innovation.
Successful applicants established in the United Kingdom will not be treated as established in an associated country if the association agreement does not apply by the time of the signature of the grant agreement.
The United Kingdom’s association to Horizon Europe did not apply at the planned date (14/6/2022) of signature of the grant agreement for your proposal. Therefore, your proposal has been declared ineligible and formally rejected.”

I was above the cut-off score in 2022, but still not funded, so I felt that ERC was limiting applicants from UK.

Seems to me UKRI should have funded you through the published guarantee, which has been extended to include this current MSCA call: https://www.ukri.org/publications/horiz ... -guidance/

Many thanks! I just read the document. I'm on the Reserve list. At last, I was above the cut-off score on the Reserve list. Does it not meet the following requirements, for example, 'the initial grant proposal as a ‘beneficiary’ with an assigned budget'?

Who can apply
'To be eligible you must: be based in the UK; have been successful at applying for a Horizon Europe grant with final submission deadlines on or before 31 March 2023; have been included on the initial grant proposal as a ‘beneficiary’ with an assigned budget.'
