You might br right, but the way I understand it, if you switch to ranking (either early or late) it means that you have at the very least crossed the first threshold (your score is >70%)! Not that 70% is enough but it is just a small relief that your idea was not treated as "trash" in the "reviewers lottery" process.
Btw I checked and last year people reported switching to ranking on this very same day 31 of January!

In the 2022 threads, I read that certain people whose applications' phase remained as "evaluation" all the way till the end got funded. I think phase change has got nothing to do with score or funding. Unless we have enough data and could do rigorous stats on it, it's best to not stress about phase change. Even then there may be numerous other factors we cannot know and account for. Additionally, there is no guarantee that this process will remain the same across years.

I think when we feel anxious about the results, we should just write here, and, as a community, we can offer some moral support. This is what I have learnt from reading all the 2022 and 2023 discussions.

I think the only conclusion is if your status changes to ranking, you are above 70%. Not the other way around!

At the moment it is not possible to switch to "Follow-up". The page shows this "The url you requested doesn't exist". Although I checked about 3 hours ago, it was available.

I'm still in evaluation too and have the same issue with the portal!
