Let me clarify something:

- Reviews are conducted during the autumn, and at the beginning of December they put them in common and rank the proposals. Someone in Brussels knows what proposals are going to be funded or not since a month ago. I have no idea what RANKING means, maybe they are introducing the reviews into the system progressively.

- If you have been contacted to clarify ethics issues that means that you are either funded or in the reserve list. They do not contact those who are outside of the reserve list.

I expect the results to be released on January 26, but this is just a personal guess.

I agree with you. Actually this is not a "decision phase" but a technical/implementation phase. Decisions about who got the fellowship have been already taken and now they are just updating and checking everything, including ethic issues, before making results public. And it takes time for thousands and thousands of applications. However I think that for ethics issues, according to the guide for evaluators, not all those that got the fellowship are contacted. Just a part, even a small part, if it is true that this procedure is only exceptionally taken.
