I was first on the reserve list for ENV and received the invitation to grant preparation today. Just letting those who, like me, were eager for any news about the reserve list know.

Are there anyone to go USA for global fellowship. What about the visa issue. Embassy offices was closed to visa interview due to corona. What are you think about it.

Hi
Just wondering were there others who got called up from the reserve list recently?
We had a candidate third or fourth on the reserve list who got the offer yesterday.

I would imagine that more people would have been called from the reserve list this year by virtue of COVID-19 - there are so many ways in which this can change personal and professional situations that would make the funding irrelevant to people's plans, as well as ways in which travel (and fieldwork) restrictions can make the fellowship unattractive.

On the flip side, maybe that's counter-balanced by the need for some certainty offered by the fellowship (for example, as reflected by the record number of applications for the 2020 call).
