I have it differentiated too Little Venice. E.g. T1 - Literature Review ; Deliverable1: Literature review and notes from desktop research. Or again: T2: Public talk in an NGO ; D2: Report from the talk.

And the milestones are even different... Don't ask me the logic behind... My attitude was 'tell me what I have to... And I'll do it!'.

How are tasks different from deliverables? I have detailed deliverables but no tasks at all.

The information on what tasks you plan to do need to be there somewhere, because the evaluators need to judge if you have any clue on what you're doing. The format, however, is flexible. You don't need to list explicitly what tasks T1.1, T1.2, T1.3, etc, are. Typically your methodology section will include this information, because it's where your details your proposed research plans. Research tasks can be implicitly described there. Similarly, if in the dissemination section you discussed your planned dissemination activities are X, Y, and Z, then obviously you have X, Y and Z as dissemination tasks.

What needs to be listed explicitly are work packages, milestones, and deliverables, as part of composing the Gantt chart. You also only need to justify your resource and person-month allocation per work package, not per task.
