There was a long discussion on what it means and it is in the previous thread. I used the link in 2017 once and I decided not to do it anymore. It is a little bit like peeking through a keyhole and what you see can be very much misleading and not correct causing further stress... I feel also like a coward not using it but looking at what you obtain using it

That must have been a crazy time... I had defended it before, I needed to do so before summer in order to qualify for a different grant. Good luck with your defence!hmdoel wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 4:41 pmme too... in fact, just going to do my defence in 3 weeks.
Writing the proposal and thesis at the same time was crazy, so I just hope that I will get useful feedback for next year
mrie wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 4:39 pmI went into ranking quite early on (831xxx), so I hope option one isn't true... But it probably is, first time applying and straight out of a PhD! I'm mostly curious about my score!evolved wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 4:13 pmthere are three possibilities:
1. people that remain in evaluation and go into ranking late are winners.
2. people that remain in evaluation and don’t go into ranking are in the <70% threshold.
3. evaluation and ranking depend on ID and panel, and do not predict anything.
pick your favorite explanation that will help you sleep tonight

I think people who get this fellowship straight from phd without ever had worked on a research consortium are pretty impressive folks. I know that the experience I got working on two EU consortiums (one before I got phd and one after) was really helpful for the MCSA application. The insights into deliverables, dissemination, impact, and all that jazz, was really helpful.

Actually people that just got their PhD or they got it 1-5 years ago are more likely to get it (in terms of success rate). This fellowship is meant (at least theorically) for training. I think this is the reason.

True to some degree yea. I got mine in Feb 2017. However, I was referring to the understanding of how to write a proposal and how funded research works in practice. Can be very helpful for writing grants.

That's for sure. I remember the kind of proposal i wrote in the final months of my PhD. Nothing to do with several rejections and several grant writing workshops
