Hi djivaha! I have no idea about the salary in Spain, but my host asked me about my start date. There are 3 options apparently :
1. Start the first day of the month following the signature of the GA
2. A defined starting date, within 2 years after the call submission deadline (before the 12 September 2020)
3. An approximate date within one year following the GA signature. You can confirm later when you would want to start.
Maybe the option 2 would work for you. There is also a paragraph you can fill to add some info on this part of the GA. Ultimately, I guess you can ask your PO through the portal, they are apparently really helpful.

Hi to everyone from Serbia! Thrilled to be part of this community! This was my first attempt, I wrote an ST-ENG proposal and will be going to Spain (any ideas on the gross-net ratio for the salary there? I see some calculators online but not sure if they're trustworthy).
What I could really use help with is some advice on the start date - if I understand correctly it must be within 12 months from signing the GA (end of March)? But the give indicative date can also be changed later on (e.g. from January 2020 to February 2020)?
I will probably have to do another research stay before the fellowship for 3-4 months in USA so thinking on how to combine it. Also, I'm an assistant professor and have to think about whether and how to get unpaid leave for this period (if there is any advice or experiences with this please let me know:)
Anyway, I wish everyone successful and smooth fellowships, and a time of your life!

Thank you for the reply Turpentine! I am in contact with my Host institution's project office and have scheduled a Skype for next week. They seem to have a lot of experience with this so I will ask them everything in detail and let you all if there is important information that I've missed.

Hi Pierre,
Apparently there is a bug in the portal not allowing us CAR awardees to enter 36 months in the recruitment tab. Are you having the same issues and If so do you have any news from the EU or the helpdesk concerning this bug?
All the Best

hi guys and congratulations to all!
myself I got a 3-year CAR fellowship in LIF [but my background is in physics and computer science] and I have recently moved from the USA to Greece.
My proposal is related to machine learning and microbial sequences.
I'm curious about discussing with you Turpentine about 3D networks modeling (and also how this connects to mass spectrometry!) and exploring the possibility of collaboration, since I am currently working on a project for large-scale network (graph) layout in 2D and 3D.
We are lucky to have been given great independence through this fellowship and I would be keen using it to explore interesting collaborations with the many talented people here from other scientific areas, even going beyond the limits of our proposal.
Regarding actual salaries, you might know that it depends on the host country and is adjusted by the country correction coefficient (CCC) - see p. 77 here for a list:
http://ec.europa.eu/research/participan ... sca_en.pdf
For my case with CCC = 88.7% the net salary will be around 2500 euro/month after taxes... I know this reliably from a last year's MSCA fellow at my institute. Of course how much is taken for taxes after applying the CCC depends on the tax laws of each country and can vary a lot..
Thank you all for providing support and entertainment before the results and I hope we keep having interesting conversations here!

that's right - I have mentioned it to the officer and they are aware of the bug, they are working on it.. they suggested to wait until it is fixed in a few days before submitting the forms

The same here. The bug appears under the recruitment tab; They say they are working on it. Curious if anyone here got an MSCA in the Netherlands?

Hello all,
I am a IF awardee and I have a question on finances. I too have been unpaid during my last work and was wondering how the relocation is handled. I see that this is included in the mobility allowance and the latter is included in the salary, but when is the salary paid?
Also, I had some problems with my last work contract, as I had also just signed a job offer since I was not expecting to be awarded and it was a really good opportunity for me with a well-respected group. I have been trying to contact the project officer from the EU because there was (and is) a long period of negotiations, but I haven't heard from him since I submitted the legal data.

Hi everyone! I hope all is going well with your Grant Agreement preparation.
I wanted to ask you what stage have you reached with this as I am somewhat unclear. When I enter the 'Latest Legal Data' window I see that the 'Deadline foreseen for Grant Agreement singature' is March 26. But in the timeline on top it is May 15. Currently the status is not even 'Prepared' although the Grant Agreement is prepared in the system (I can download the full GA document). What is your experience so far?

Hi,
I am new to this forum. I found this forum very informative. I also got MSCA-IF 2019 fellowship and I would like to update that today we have signed the Grant Agreement. So I think the 'Grant Agreement signing' season has already begun
All the best to all the folks here.

Wow, congratulations! Both by your Host and by the EC? That was very quick. In my case it is still not 'open' for signing, data entry has been closed and I think now the EC is checking everything before opening for Host signature and then they have to sign it (until May 15)
