I believe that to avoid confusion between the link status and the participant's portal, we must name the link status as a phase, as it appears on the link. What is your opinion about this?? Are you agree? :?:

Could be. I am sure that the factor of luck is very very mandatory to get MSCA grant.

Yes, I think that the luck is very important in this fellowship. For example, this is my first submission and I obtained my PhD last year and I am convinced that I am not going to get it because others researchers more experienced than me have applied too.

Madness!
As expected, as soon as the horrid "link" comes up, everyone is disoriented.

- What is your status ?
- My status is final.
- Holy crap. My status is submission.
- But mine is still final.
- Mine says evaluation
- Different links, folks. Official vs nonsensical.
- But Berrylium! mine is submission.
- Please help. My status is final. Does this mean I got rejected?
- [troll] Mine says grant preparation. See you later.
- Oh no. My status is still final. I think I'm gone.
- Screw all this. Delete account.
- Chill folks. The backdoor is just nonsense.
- But I check the backdoor link 10 times a day.
- My status is single. Anyone else?
- My status has not changed for 36.4 seconds. On both links. I think this means I got under 70%.
- NCP says results are early.
- My NCP says results will be late.
- My friend's mother's cat's uncle's brother's cousin is an evaluator. They said results will be on 26Jan at 01:00 Brussels time.
- My status is still submission. What can I do now?
- Status final. In the name of Marie Curie, what does this mean?
- My NCP does not pick my calls anymore.

No worries for that, statistically average of year for MSCA fellow and most of that maybe half lie between 32-34 years. And from 34 years old fellows statistically number of years of MSCA fellow falling down. So experience can have effect but is not crucial.

I found some facts for the last year:

1. The evaluation of proposals for this call was carried out between 24 September 2018 and 17 January 2019, with the assistance of 3641 outside experts.
2. Before starting the evaluation as well as during the evaluation, 14 proposals were withdrawn by the applicants.
3. The eligibility check found that — out of the 9,830 proposals received— 115 (1.2%) failed to meet one (or more) of the eligibility criteria and must therefore be rejected.
4. Above-threshold proposals with ethics issues and probability to be considered for funding were subject to an ethics review carried out by ethics experts.
5. Out of the 1,351 proposals that have been retained for funding (main list of proposals), 930 proposals belong to EF-ST (68.8%), 178 proposals are GF (13.2%), 115 proposals are RI (8.5%), 76 proposals are CAR (5.6%) and 52 proposals are SE (3.8%). This shows a similar trend to the proposals that were retained for funding in the previous year (EF-ST: 76,3%; GF: 10,16%; EF-RI: 5,8%; EF-CAR: 3,4%; EF-SE: 4,3%).
6. Most successful host countries (calculated as a ratio of proposals in main list/ proposals submitted): Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, UK, Belgium.
7. Top 5 nationalities of researchers: Italy, Spain, India, France, China.

Thanks for the data, Dreamer and SimpaLif.
If either of you you still have a reference for the data, could you please give it?

A more thorough break up of, for example, the age of MSCA IF fellows would be quite interesting.

That does not mean a thing. I know people that got it after first submission straight after PhD. I also know of people with lots of experience and nature papers that failed and I also know of researcher with experience and high If papers that got it. Since luck plays an important role, experience does not matter. You also need to think that there are people that have applied 3 or 4 times and still did not get it.
