Only 385 pages of comments and fighting to go in order to match the madness of last year

Let's do it! We are all so used of achieving high standards that I am sure we can beat last year's madness :D

Yep, I'm hoping this will let me make the move home smoother than it would be otherwise. My wife has already accepted a PI position in Dublin so we are definitely moving!

Obviously. I'm European. I'm based in the US. What's your point?

It's a European grant.
This thread seems so strange. Surely there are a ton of us Europeans who came to the US for various things. The mobility rule makes the MSCA ideal to move home.

That's where I'm from! I actually just booked our one-way tickets back to Dublin this morning, so I'm looking forward to getting home regardless of the outcome of this fellowship. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Dublin.

I am already at the host institution. It took me roughly a month to finish the fist draft in July. So at the beginning of August I sent it to the supervisor and a few more people and I went on holiday.. :D big mistake  . I'm not the kind of academic who doesn't check his email on holiday. I started receiving feedback and freaked out a little bit. I was asked to change a few things on the methodology. This required to re write a part of the introduction as well. The changes were minor but the whole restructuring took almost 2 weeks. I'm confident about the excellence part but impact and implementation could definitely improve. I hope for the best.
Good luck to everyone here!

First time it took me ages. The host did not helped; I wrote the project and I submitted to different fellowships, so it was revised several times by supervisor and secondments. A friend of mine, msca reviewer, had a deep look into it and gave me few very good advices. NCP also revised it.
After failing I decided to abandon the project as I was sick of it and needed a change. I changed completely topic, supervisor and institution. He had already a winning project so I shape that with my expertise proposing few new stuff. Everything else was basically improved on last year comments and new NCP revision. This time host was helpful and revised the project. I spent a month with the supervisor correcting it. My plus was to had the impact part revised from a european open access office.

Guys, what I could not STAND with this application is the 10-page limit. Cutting here, adding there, just a word or two changing the whole equilibrium it was insane!

I’m not in a research position and I’m applying fir a project to consolidate two sets of knowledge. I did this in the evenings (full time job + kids limits time) and I stretched it over a few months. 2018 application I think I started in June and it was a totally new project so it took a while to do the literature review. This year my supervisor and I went back and forth, especially with finding better connections with some interdisciplinary teams at the host institution. The department I want to go to have a strong track record with successful applicants and have a lot of guidance. Compared to some friends who went through the process at other places, I think I got better background on how to write a successful proposal. They shared some previously successful proposals and a range of review comments and my proposal was read multiple times with comments.
